This is a closed discussion community founded by members of POR 103 and POR 203 (Portuguese language classes, Summer 2006) and one of their instructors. Here, we devote our time to the study and discussion of Luís Vaz de Camões's epic poem Os Lusíadas (1572). While our community is brand-new and currently under construction, we intend very soon to include a syllabus, structured readings of the poem, open discussion forums, and individual member posts (text, audio/voice, and image enabled).

If you have received an invitation to the community, this means we would like to have you as a member. Welcome.

If you have not received an invitation, please read the following:

Outside applications to join will be considered, but entry into the community is not guaranteed. If you are interested in joining but have not already received an invite, please do the following:

1.) Click on the "Join the community" link above.
2.) After clicking on "Join the community," post your "application" to the community. You can do this by clicking on the little blue pencil icon, also located above. Your application will be reviewed by the moderator, who will inform you as to whether or not you have been accepted. Only those seriously interested need apply. Basic knowledge and understanding of written Portuguese is the minimum required for all members.
